FOR REFERRAL PARTNERS
Clear Clinical Findings.
Reliable Turnaround Times.
If you are thinking about making a referral, here's what you need to know about who I work with, when to refer, what to expect, and how to send a file.
When to Refer
Who Can Refer
Assessments & Medical-Legal Evidence
Form 1 / Attendant Care: A client requires an objective and defensible report and breakdown of physical or cognitive attendant care hours.
OCF-19 / CAT & GOS-E Support: A physician or neuropsychologist requires objective observations of functional performance data to make a well-supported determination of catastrophic impairment.
SABS & LAT Disputes: When a file involves a disputed issue of function, Atlas North provides independent assessment grounded in direct observation, clinical reasoning, and relevant supporting evidence.
Home, Safety & Workplace Transitions
Home Safety & Equipment: The client is struggling with transfers, fall risks, or physical barriers at home and needs specific recommendations for modifications or assistive devices.
Hospital Discharge: A client with complex injuries is leaving the hospital and needs immediate home safety setups, equipment sourcing, personal support worker set-up, and care coordination.
Return-to-Work Barriers: The client cannot manage their job duties, and they require a Job Demands Analysis or ergonomic review to determine how to safely match their restrictions to the workplace.
Rehabilitation & Complex Recovery
Post-Concussion Symptoms: Persistent cognitive fatigue, brain fog, or sensory issues are stalling recovery after sustaining a mild traumatic brain injury.
Chronic Pain & Fatigue: Persistent pain is limiting daily activity, and the client needs practical pacing, energy conservation, and reactivation strategies to gradually get moving again.
Trauma & Community Avoidance: Psychological barriers such as driving or passenger anxiety after a crash are keeping the client isolated and unable to navigate their community.
Complex, Overlapping Injuries: The client is dealing with a mix of physical, psycho-emotional, and cognitive deficits and needs a structured, goal-directed rehab plan to keep their recovery on track.
I accept direct referrals from professionals across the legal, insurance, and healthcare sectors, including:
Personal Injury Lawyers (Plaintiff & Defense): For objective medical-legal assessments, independent rebuttal reports, and expert testimony for LAT disputes or tort claims.
Auto Insurance Adjusters: For objective, evidence-based assessments (including Form 1, OCF-19 support, and housekeeping/caregiving reviews) to assist with file resolution and benefit determination. Atlas North's role is to document function as it is observed, including abilities, limitations, supports and areas of uncertainty. Clinical opinions are based on the available evidence and are not predetermined by the referral source or anticipated outcome of the file.
Case Managers: To coordinate immediate, goal-directed community rehabilitation, hospital discharge planning, and equipment sourcing for complex or catastrophic files.
Primary Care Physicians & Specialists: For functional, cognitive, or ergonomic assessments to assist with return-to-work planning or to provide objective observational data for catastrophic (CAT) impairment applications.
Self-Referrals (Private Clients): Atlas North accepts direct inquiries from individuals or family members seeking private occupational therapy services following an injury. (Note: I can assist in determining if your auto-insurance policy will fund these services).
